Library System Scheduled Outage

Hello WesternU Community,

On October 4, 2016 the Pumerantz Library will be performing an upgrade to our Online Catalog (https://whsl.sirsi.net/).

The upgrade is scheduled to begin at 5am and should be complete by 11am.

During this time, the Online Catalog and its features will be unavailable (item lookup, online renew, online holds, item due notices, etc.). Electronic Resources on the Library’s webpages will be available during this outage. Check-in and Check-out of materials can be done in person, item renewals and holds will be available in person or by phone. Physical items can be looked up using the Pumerantz Library Discovery Service on the Library’s homepage, but the item’s location may not be available. Library Staff can assist you in finding physical materials. If you have any questions or concerns about this outage, please contact the library at 909-469-5323 or email libsupport@westernu.edu.

PubMed - Access Denied

UPDATE - Access to PubMed is now available 7/22/16 10:30am

PubMed is currently unavailable and is directing users to an Access Denied page stating we are blocked from using the site.

This is not specific to us, all institutions trying to access PubMed are seeing the same error.

We will update this post as soon as more information becomes available.

New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) unavailable off campus

Update: Off-campus access to NEJM has been restored 7/19/2016 12:30pm

Our access to NEJM is currently down off campus.  The vendor has blocked us due to excessive use. NEJM is still available on campus.  If you need help accessing articles, please contact Reference at reference@westernu.edu.

We are working with the publisher to restore access and will update this blog when it has been restored.
