Booked Study Room Reservation system

The study room reservation software Booked is currently down. A ticket has been opened with the IT department. We will update this post when we have additional information.

To request a study room reservation, please call the library front desk at 909-469-5323 or email circ@westernu.edu.

Booked Study Room Reservation system

UPDATE: Booked is working again. 3/25/25 10:55 am

Booked is currently not working as expected. You are able to log in but can not create new reservations or edit existing ones. You will see an error that states "error loading reservation". We have opened a ticket with IT and will update this post when we have more information.

Catalog Maintenance - February 27

When: Thursday, February 27 from 2 am – 3 am PT

What: SirsiDynix is completing system maintenance that will affect the library catalog.

Impact: The catalog will be completely down. You will not be able to search or use any of the ‘My Account’ features like placing holds or renewing items.

The Electronic Resources webpage and the Discovery Service search box on the library website will be available.

EMBASE outage

UPDATE - EMBASE database access is now available 1/7/25

The EMBASE database is currently unavailable. We have reached out to the vendor to investigate the issue. We will update this post when access has been reinstated.

Full Text Locator missing in Pumerantz Library Discovery Service & EBSCO databases

UPDATE: The Full Text Locator button is back. 12/12/24 6:50 am

Our Full Text Locator is missing in the Pumerantz Library Discovery Service (results from the search box on library homepage) and the EBSCO databases. This is the drop down box that says "Access options". We have contacted the vendor and hope to have it working again soon. In the meantime, you can follow the below instructions to find the materials you need.

  • If the resource is an ebook, you can click on the title and scroll down to the "Online Access" link at the bottom of the page. 
  • If the resource is a journal article, you will have to use the search box on the homepage and use the drop-down menu to select "EJournals" and search for the journal name. 
    • If we have access, once on the journal page, navigate to the volume, issue, and page of the article. 
    • If we do not have access, you can submit a request in ILLiad.

Databases like PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science are not affected and will still have the Full Text Locator as usual.

EBSCO databases affected:

  • Academic Search Elite
  • Alt HealthWatch
  • Business Source Elite
  • CINAHL
  • Health Source: Consumer Edition
  • Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition
  • Newspaper Source
  • Regional Business News
  • PsycInfo

We will update this blog when the problem has been fixed.
