Electronic Resources Outage

Power Outage in LRC

UPDATE: Service to all library systems has been restored. If you continue to encounter access problems, please contact the library at (909) 469-5323.

Due to a recent power outage in the library building, some library services are currently unavailable. The services affected are ILLiad (Article Request forms) and our WUcat Catalog. Remote access to the Library's electronic resources seems to be unaffected at this time.

Electronic Resources Planned Outage

Hello Western U Community,

On December 5th we will be conducting maintenance on the Library Proxy server from 8am PST to approximately 10am PST.  During this time, access to Electronic Resources will be intermittently unavailable.

PubMed Technical Difficulties

The National Library of Medicine has posted the below regarding PubMed access.

"We are having intermittent technical difficulties with PubMed and related databases, including problems creating PubMed searches from the MeSH Database and overall system slowness.

We will resolve the problem as soon as possible."

The library will post more information as it becomes available.

ILLiad upgrade cancelled

ILLiad Scheduled Outage

ScienceDirect Outage

UPDATE: 9/21 3:00pm - Access to ScienceDirect is now available

ScienceDirect appears to be having technical problems. When trying to access full text articles you will see the following message, "Sorry, your request can't be processed due to a system problem. Contact the Help Desk if the problem persists." We are checking with the vendor and will report back as soon as a resolution is reached.

EndNote Download Issues: UPDATE

It has been reported that some people are experiencing a 403 error when trying to download EndNote. We are aware of the issue and the Information Technology department is looking into it. ScienceDirect Maintenance

Server Maintenance Downtime

Tonight at approximately 830pm Technical Support will be performing a restart of the Library server as part of needed maintenance.  During this time the WUCatOnline Catalog, Renewing Books and Placing Holds electronically will be unavailable.  The downtime is expected to last no more than 10 minutes.

WesternU Network Maintenance

Below is an email from WesternU Technical Support regarding a network outage 7/9/12 beginning at 6pm. The proxy server may be effected which would prevent access to the electronic resources during the downtime.

Tonight at 6:00 PM our network team will be performing maintenance on our networking equipment.  We may experience internet connectivity loss for brief periods of time during this maintenance. Wiley Online Library will be disrupted on 26 May from 2:00am-4:00am PDT for essential maintenance.

R2 Digital Library Server Maintenance

Hello Western U Community,

Beginning tomorrow May 4th at 11pm EST (8pm PST) R2 Digital Library will be unavailable for use. 

The maintenance outage from Rittenhouse is expected to end at 6am EST (3am PST) at which time the R2 Digital Library will again be online.

Notice of Server Maintenance for AccessMedicine

We want to inform you of scheduled downtime that AccessMedicine will experience on April 11th during a migration to new, upgraded servers. The migration is scheduled to start at 9pm Pacific Time.

Due to this upgrade, AccessMedicine will be unavailable, possibly for up to 2 hours. They do not expect the process to exceed 2 hours. People who visit the site during this time will be presented with a page alerting them that the site is undergoing scheduled maintenance and to check back soon.

March 21st Network outage, Pomona Campus, Library building

IT will be doing some network cable maintenance on Wednesday, March 21st 6 pm-8 pm. The network in the entire Library building will be down during these two hours. This means any application that relies on the network (email, Internet, network printers) will be unavailable during this time.

Possible ScienceDirect Outage

Elsevier is planning a set of upgrades this weekend, March 17-18 2012. There may be temporary service disruptions to ScienceDirect between 5:30AM PDT-6:30PM PDT, Saturday, March 17th 2012.
