Anatomy.tv Gross Anatomy Modules Not Loading

Our Anatomy.tv Gross Anatomy modules are going to a blank page. We have contacted their support and will let update this blog when the problem is fixed. The 3D Real-Time Dentistry and 3D Leg, Ankle, and Foot modules are both working.

Books not showing up in EDS

UPDATE: All of our print and ebooks are showing up again in EDS. 9/30/26 10:43am

Most of our ebooks and all of our print books are currently not displaying on EDS (Pumerantz Library Discover Search box on the homepage). You can search our print book collection via Locate. The only ebooks displaying now are those provided by EBSCO. If you do not see an ebook that you know we have, you can use Publication Finder to search for an ebook. If you know which provider the ebook is on you can also go directly there. Here is a list of our other ebook providers.

PubMed not working with OpenAthens

UPDATE: PubMed is now working with OpenAthens. 9/7/26 10:06am

PubMed is currently not working with OpenAthens. Please use this URL to go directly to PubMed: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?otool=westulib. If you use the Pumerantz Library Full Text Locator button to check for full text, you will need to then click on the guest login at the top of the Full Text Locator Results page (gray bar) to log in to check for access.

 We are working on the problem and will update this blog when it has been fixed.

EBSCO access issues

UPDATE: The error has been fixed. 6/25/26 11:14am

All of our EBSCO databases are giving a 403 error. If you see this error, please try refreshing the page.  EBSCO is aware of the issue and working to resolve it. Here is a list of the affected resources:

Library System Migration - May 26 to May 29

We are migrating to a new library system on Friday, May 29. This will let us bring you one place where you can start your research and manage your library account.  

• The last day to use the current catalog to manage your holds and renew items is Tuesday, May 26.
• For help with items you borrowed during the transition, contact us at circ@westernu.edu or 909-469-5323.
• Holds and renewals are moving to EBSCO Discovery Service on Friday, May 29.

The Electronic Resources webpage and the Discovery Service search box on the library website will continue to be available for searching.

ILLiad Maintenance – April 10 and 11

When: Friday, April 10 at 8 pm to Saturday, April 11 at 4 am PT.

What: OCLC is performing critical upgrades affecting ILLiad.

Impact: ILLiad may be intermittently unavailable during maintenance. You might not be able to submit or access your requests.

Catalog Maintenance – March 26

When: Thursday, March 26 from 3 am – 4 am PT

What: SirsiDynix is updating a server that will affect the catalog.

Impact: The catalog will be available for searching but “My Account” will be down. You will not be able to log in to place holds or renew items.

You will still be able to search the catalog, use the Electronic Resources webpage and the Discovery Service search box on the library website.
