Lost Access to Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association (JAPMA)

We have temporarily lost access to Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association (JAPMA).  The provider has been contacted and we are waiting to hear back.  We will update this blog when access has been restored.

Online Catalog – Scheduled Downtime

When: Thursday, March 16, 2023 - 2:00 am to 3:00 am PT

What: SirsiDynix is completing server maintenance affecting the Online Catalog.

Impact: The Online Catalog “My Account” feature will not be available. You will not be able to log into your catalog account to place holds or renew items.

You will still be able to search and access electronic material through Electronic Resources and the Discovery Service search box on the library website.

Ovid Journals 403 error

A number of our Ovid Journals are giving a 403 error when trying to link to specific articles using our Pumerantz Library Full Text Locator button.  We have contacted the publisher and they are actively working on the problem.  In the meantime, you can still navigate directly to the journal using the EJOURNALS search tab on our homepage or going directly to our publication finder.  

ILLiad Downtime – January 31

When: Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 2:00 am to 4:00 am PT

What: ILLiad, the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery website, will not be available due to scheduled maintenance.

Impact: During this time, you will not be able to access or submit requests. If you encounter any issues after maintenance is complete, contact ill@westernu.edu.

Acland's Video Atlas of Human Anatomy not working

UPDATE: Access to Acland's has been restored. 11/22/22 7:13 am

Acland's Video Atlas of Human Anatomy is not working right now. When you click on the resource you will see this reCAPTCHA error:

When you try to click on the "Take me to my Content" button you will see this error:

WORKAROUND: 

To temporarily bypass this error, you can create a personal account on another LWW product and then log in to Acland's directly.  Here are the steps to follow:

1. Log on to LWW Health Library- https://proxy.westernu.edu/login?url=https://lwwhealthlibrary.com
2. Use the drop-down menu next to Western University of Health Sciences and click Create a Free Personal Account
3. Once created, go to https://aclandanatomy.com
4. You should now be able to check the box next to reCAPTCHA and click on Take me to my Content
5. On the Acland's page, click on the Sign In link on the top right and sign in with the username and password you just created.  You should now be able to access all the content.

We have contacted the provider and are awaiting a response. We will update this blog when the problem is fixed.
