New Electronic Resources Page

Introducing the Pumerantz Library's new Electronic Resources page.


Why a new Electronic Resources page?
  • Faster updates - Our previous E-Resources page required a 24 hour wait period to update content. Our new page can be updated at any time, so we can provide URL changes or database outage notifications to you sooner.
  • Outage alerts - If a database is experiencing problems, planning an update, or currently down, we can add an icon that will alert you, with a link to our blog with more information.
  • Easier navigation - you can now search for databases by title, or filter by subject.  Don't know where to start? Filter by College or program to find out which database will be most useful to you.
  • Report a problem - Use our new form located in the menu on the right side of the page to report problems with library resources, services, or facilities.
  • Quickly identify databases that have mobile apps - Just look for the mobile phone icon next to the database name.
  • View tutorials for certain databases - We have linked vendor-created tutorials, if they are available. Look for the tutorial link underneath the database description.

ILLiad Downtime Notice

UPDATE: Access has been restored. 6/25/19 10:00 am

The Library article request system, ILLiad, will be unavailable due to system maintenance on Tuesday, June 25 at 7 am for approximately 3 hours.

During this time, you will be unable to submit or retrieve requests from the ILLiad system. Electronic Resources (https://www.westernu.edu/library/) will be available during this outage.

PAeasy has changed their name to PA Exam Prep and changed their URL. As a result, the URL on our Electronic Resources page is not working. We are working with IT to get it updated ASAP.

Planned Power Outage Saturday, April 20th 6:30am - 8:30am to affect access to Library Electronic Resources

Due to the planned power outage (including the generator) in the Patient Care Center on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 6:30AM to 8:30AM, the following services and applications* will be unavailable:

  • Library Electronic Resources 
  • Pharos (student printing system)
  • Network Drives
    • PCC S: Drive
    • W: Drive (campus wide)
    • PharmD J: Drive
  • MiPACS (CDM/DCC application)


*There may be additional services and applications unavailable during this outage. A comprehensive list will be provided in the Friday morning e-mail that is sent out to the community.

JAOA

UPDATE Access has been restored 2/21/19

Journal of the American Osteopathic Association (JAOA) is no longer complimentary for colleges of osteopathic medicine. Online access is currently down while we establish our new paid subscription. JAOA is currently available open access online 1996-Feb 2018. We also have print issues for the entire 2018 year available for document delivery. To request document delivery please place an order through ILLiad.

Online Catalog Login Issue

UPDATE - This issue has been resolved. 2/4/19 4:10 p.m. 

We are currently experiencing login issues in the Library’s Online Catalog (https://whsl.sirsi.net) for users signing in with their WesternU credentials. If you need to submit a renewal or place a hold, please contact the Library at 909-469-5323 to request your library system PIN. This will allow you to sign in using your WesternU ID number.
