Winter Break Closure 12-18 @ 5pm through 1-4 @ 7am

The Harriet K. and Philip Pumerantz library will be closed for Winter Break starting at 5pm on December 18th through January 3rd. During this time Interlibrary Loans and Document Delivery requests will not be processed. Regular service will resume January 4th, 2015.

E-Resource linking issue

UPDATE: The error has been fixed 1:33pm 12/4/2015

We are experiencing an issue with links to our E-Resources. The links are appending the characters "&_ga=1.69596441.805913980.1448897839" to the end of our links. Because this is not the actual URL you will see a proxy error or a page cannot be displayed error. Remove the extra characters from your address bar and try to load the page again.

We are working with the WesternU IT department to resolve the issue ASAP.

eResource Cancellations - uCentral and Annual Reviews

Every year the library reviews its journal and database subscriptions to ensure that titles are continuing to be used. This annual review of subscriptions allows the library to stay within budget while freeing some funds to add new titles requested by students and faculty.

For the 2015-16 fiscal year the library will be cancelling uCentral and Annual Reviews. These resources have shown consistent low usage over the past few years.

Our subscription to uCentral will expire on September 11th, 2015. One of the eBooks available in uCental, The Harriet Lane Handbook, will now be available through EBSCO. On Friday, August 28, 2015, the E-Journal Search box and Full-text locator buttons will be down between 7:00 and 9:00 pm while the vendor performs system updates.

We have limited full-text access to The Physician and Sportsmedicine and Postgraduate Medicine.

Currently we are only able to access articles from 2014 using the current provider platform Informa Healthcare. We have access to back issues through 2014 using the previous providers platform. We do not have 2015 access on either platform. We have contacted the publisher to help resolve this issue.

EBSCO system maintenance scheduled for March 14, 2015

On Saturday, March 14, 2015, the following services will be unavailable while EBSCO performs system updates:

• LinkSource

The service window is scheduled to begin at 6:00 AM Pacific Daylight  (-04:00 GMT) and you will be unable to access these services until the update is complete and full service resumes. They anticipate resuming full service by 6:00 PM Pacific Daylight (-04:00 GMT).

All EBSCOhost databases and interfaces will be available for the duration of the updates.
