Full Text Locator missing in Pumerantz Library Discovery Service & EBSCO databases

UPDATE: The Full Text Locator button is back. 12/12/24 6:50 am

Our Full Text Locator is missing in the Pumerantz Library Discovery Service (results from the search box on library homepage) and the EBSCO databases. This is the drop down box that says "Access options". We have contacted the vendor and hope to have it working again soon. In the meantime, you can follow the below instructions to find the materials you need.

  • If the resource is an ebook, you can click on the title and scroll down to the "Online Access" link at the bottom of the page. 
  • If the resource is a journal article, you will have to use the search box on the homepage and use the drop-down menu to select "EJournals" and search for the journal name. 
    • If we have access, once on the journal page, navigate to the volume, issue, and page of the article. 
    • If we do not have access, you can submit a request in ILLiad.

Databases like PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science are not affected and will still have the Full Text Locator as usual.

EBSCO databases affected:

  • Academic Search Elite
  • Alt HealthWatch
  • Business Source Elite
  • CINAHL
  • Health Source: Consumer Edition
  • Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition
  • Newspaper Source

Discovery Search Box and Most EBSCO Databases Down


UPDATE: The discovery search box and databases are working again. 11/19/24 9:41 am

The Discovery search box on the library's homepage is not working. The problem is also affecting most of the EBSCO databases:

  • Academic Search Elite
  • Alt Health Watch
  • Business Source Elite
  • CINAHL
  • EBSCO eBooks
  • Health Source: Consumer Edition
  • Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition
  • Newspaper Source
  • Regional Business News

The resources not affected are:

  • DynaMed
  • PsycInfo
  • eJournals search
EBSCO is aware of the problem and is working on it. We will update this blog with any updates.

Discovery Search box down

UPDATE: The discovery search box is working again. 11/15/24 12:33pm 

Our discovery search box on the library home page is currently down, except for the eJournals search. All other search options go to a 404 error page. We are working to get it back up. You can still search our databases directly. We will update this blog when it is fixed.

Proxy outage


UPDATE: The proxy server is back up. 10/29/24 2:29 PM

We have lost access to our Proxy Server due to an issue at the Pomona Campus. This means that all of our Electronic Resources are not able to be access remotely until the problem is fixed.  Technical Support is working on the issue and we will update this blog when access is restored.

Treadmill desk not working

The treadmill desk located in study room 304 is not working and will need to be serviced. The room has been blocked off until it has been repaired. We will update this blog when it is fixed.

DynaMed is scheduled to undergo maintenance on Tuesday, August 27th at 3:00 pm, which should last one hour. During this time, it is possible that a user may encounter a domain or server error when trying to access the product. Any impacted users will encounter the issue for 30 seconds or up to 5 minutes. Annual Reviews eJournals Access Problems

We are experiencing access issues on the Annual Reviews ejournals platform. A message displays that says "Verifying you are human. This may take a few seconds" and does not progress past that. We have contacted the publisher and will update this blog when the problem has been resolved.

Losing Access to 5MinuteConsult Database

In July we will lose access to the 5MinuteConsult point-of-care database. Access to this product had been given to us complementarily via Ovid, but that will be ending in July and we will not be purchasing it. Removal of McGraw-Hill eBook Library

 McGraw-Hill is sunsetting its eBook Library, which means we will be losing access to the First Aid ebook collection. Access will end on July 20th and the link will be removed from our Electronic Resources page at that time. Lost Access to eJournals

UPDATE: Access to all journals has been restored. 2/2/24 3:58 pm

We have temporarily lost access to the following ejournals.

  • AAO Journal- lost access to 2023
  • Diabetes Care- lost access to February 2023 to present
  • Journal of Allied Health- lost access to volume 51 issues 2-4, 2022
  • Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association (JAPMA)- lost access to 1996 to present
  • Operative Dentistry- lost access to 2022 to present
