ILLiad Maintenance – May 31 to June 1

When: Friday, May 31 at 11:30 pm to Saturday, June 1 at 4 am PT.

What: OCLC is completing server maintenance that might affect ILLiad, the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery website.

Impact: The website will be available but may intermittently go down. If you encounter issues, please try again.

Losing Access to 5MinuteConsult Database

In July we will lose access to the 5MinuteConsult point-of-care database. Access to this product had been given to us complementarily via Ovid, but that will be ending in July and we will not be purchasing it. For any questions or concerns, please contact the Reference Department at reference@westernu.edu.

EBSCO PDF viewer access error

UPDATE: Access to PDFs has been restored. 5/20/24 10:50 am

EBSCO has notified us that there is a problem opening PDFs on their platform.  Here are the affected databases:

• EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) [search box on the library home page]
• ESCOhost Research Databases
• Alt HealthWatch
• Business Source Elite
• CINAHL
• ERIC
• Health Source: Nursing/Academic
• Newspaper Source
• Regional Business News
• Psycinfo

We will update this blog when the problem has been resolved.

Removal of McGraw-Hill eBook Library

 McGraw-Hill is sunsetting its eBook Library, which means we will be losing access to the First Aid ebook collection. Access will end on July 20th and the link will be removed from our Electronic Resources page at that time. Booked Maintenance - May 17

When: Friday, May 17 from 6 pm to 8 pm PT

What: Booked, the study room reservation system, will be down during this Friday’s IT Monthly Maintenance.

Impact: You will not be able to access the site to make or modify your study room reservations. If you have questions about reservations, contact circ@westernu.edu.
